Ninghai County was honored as “National Health County”

    Ninghai News: Recently, National Health Patriotic Office formally named Ninghai County as “National Health County”, which was another honor after becoming national ecological mode area in 2003. There are 36 towns (counties) titled as “National Health County” all over the country this year, in which 4 are in Zhejiang Province and Ninghai County is the sole successful one in Ningbo City.
    Since establishing the goal of creating National Health County in 2005, Ninghai County has penetrated the health work into the whole economic construction and integrated the work closely with building provincial civilized county and national ecological mode county and other series of activities.
    National Health County establishment is silently changing Ninghai people’s life, and sharing the establishment fruits with more people as well. During the passed two years, Ninghai has quickened the pace of city public facilities: sewage and water supply pipeline is prolonged to over 300 km from 87.87 km, and per capita living area of the citizens is over 40 square meters. At present, there is over 5000 Mu ecologic public welfare forest in Ninghai downtown area, and forest coverage rate in the city reaches 32.97％, per capita public forest area increases to 12.13 square meters, forest coverage rate in the urban built-up area reaches 36.06％ and the potable water quality rate reaches 100%. Besides, the air and noise are positively managed which reduces the unfavorable factors of polluting the environment.
    The city vigorously promotes pest extinction and sickness prevention work, deeply develops “health promoting activity for hundred millions of peasants”, health town and village establishing and industrial health appraising activities. Via health establishment, Ninghai has preliminarily built up an urban-rural integrated transportation, health maintaining, water supply, employment and security network, thus the living conditions of the urban and rural residents are    significantly improved and the average life expectancy in the county reaches 76.6 years old.
